Winding Down

The school year is coming to an end for Adriana and me, time to sleep in and play all day!! Poor Adriana has a daily 6am wake up call but she does take advantage of those weekends and sleeps in until well after 8...pretty nice for mama and dada!!

Our little girl is growing up and rarely crawls, she is a walking machine! We went down to one of the parks in the area that has a water fountain that kids can play in last week and Adriana had a ball. She had her classic timid but interested look going on.

We can't wait for the school year to be over but most of all head back east!!

Summertime Fun

Our little girl is getting so big and independent these days!  She's officially walking now on her own.  She's really doing a great job moving around with minimal falls.   The walk still resembles Frankenstein but it's pretty cool to see.
Other milestones in her life right now are still chatting up a storm!  Some of her famous lines are:  "up", "up and down", "this", "that", "who's is it", "what's that", "read this", "duck".  Honestly, the girl wakes up and the first word is "that" pointing to something in the room.  She's a riot!  She's also becoming much more aware of things and is able to identify items in books or just around.  She knows duck, frog, nose, monkey, among others.  She totally understands, it's pretty crazy!

1st Pool Party

Her favorite books right now are:
Mr. Brown Can Moo (her favorite part is Boom, Boom, Boom~she walks around saying Boom, Boom, Boom and knows to find that book)
The Going to Bed Book
Pajama Time
Among many, many others...she loves her books!!!

We're enjoying every minute with her and can't wait to see the new things she learns each day!  She's getting ready to take her 5th trip the east coast in June!  We can't wait to see the family and get to spend lots of time with them.

13 months and then some...

Our little girl is growing up so fast!  Over 13 months now and she's pretty amazing.  Chatting up storms daily and we're realizing that she has already started throwing tantrums...not cool at all!  I guess she got all my sass and attitude early on.  Hope it doesn't last (wishful thinking)!  She's starting to do a little more independent walking...a few steps here and there on her own.

As some of you know...she's had some trouble at Kim's house and has been labeled "the biter", yes she bit some of her friends...not cool!!  We're working on it and hoping that it's not a regular occurance.  Here are some of her latest pictures...enjoy!

First Steps

What an exciting night! Adriana took her first steps!! She actually took a fall just a few minutes before on the living room carpet. I brought her into the kitchen and she stood for literally 2 minutes...just stood. Then she took her first steps...so cute! She got really excited and was totally proud of herself! Here's the video

1st Birthday

Wow! A year has already gone by and what fun it has been! Adriana turned one this past week, April 9th! We were very lucky to have Holly (her aunt) in town to help celebrate.

Her actually birthday was pretty low-key, we did have a small cake (banana with cream cheese frosting) and sang a little Happy Birthday! She didn't really eat the cake but instead chomped on the strawberries surrounding it...that's my healthy girl!

Adriana got an adorable birthday wish from her little cousin Joseph...she really enjoyed it!

The rest of the festivities took place on Saturday where we had a big shabang for her! The sad side of the story is that Friday night she didn't sleep well at all and the next day went to the doctor to learn she had a DOUBLE ear infection! Not good! I'll have to say that she kept her spirits pretty high all day...night time was killer though.

Her birthday party was a success! We had lots of friends that helped us celebrate and my big achievement was making a 2-tier fondant cake for her. The third tier never made it but nonetheless it was a success. Thank you to everyone that was able to make her special party. We did miss all our friends and family that were not able to be there with us.

Well, one year underway...looking forward to more adventures as year two begins!

Swimming Adventures

So tonight marked our first swimming class, a week before she turns one! What fun we had!! Before we even got into the pool Adriana was "ooooing" and "ahhhhing"...it looked like a giant bathtub. I have to say she's a natural in the pool and started kicking and moving her arms like a pro right off the bat. She even tried to blow bubbles with me but got a mouthful of water instead! We sing songs, move our arms and legs, try to reach for toys and of course chat with our new friends. There are some other cuties at the pool with us. Her friend Beau will be joining us on Tuesdays and Thursdays soon, he wasn't able to make it tonight though.

After our swim lesson we ventured off on our own for a few minutes and took a quick video (thank goodness for a waterproof camera). Sorry for the turbulance at the beginning! Check it out:

Our Girl is Growing Up

It amazes me that Adriana is turning one so soon! She is doing so many amazing things everyday! She is very mobile now crawling and walking along EVERYTHING! As many of you know she is a curious little girl and her latest and greatest is saying "this" "that" "oh"...it's too funny! She loves her books too, she'll pick up a book and say "read this" and is very persistent about it until she gets her way of course. She totally understands what's going on too, we'll ask for something specific like a toy or to push a button on a toy and she goes right to it...pretty impressive!

Her cuisine is expanding to more than just chicken these days although it is still one of her favorites. Although, many of you got to see her famous Burger Video...pretty hilarious if you ask me! She does love her meat! She is currently on a get fat diet since she's still only mere 16lbs 11oz. We started her on whole milk but she hasn't taken a liking to it quite yet. We keep on trying! We're also adding butter and oil to just about everything...don't we all wish we were on that diet?
