10 1/2 months

We're coming up on a year of being parents and Adriana has been a light in our world. A pregnancy and 10 1/2 months have gone by and I guess starting a blog would be a good idea. I was inspired by my sister-in-law Karen and how well she's done keeping up to date with baby Joseph (my new adorable nephew). I hope to keep you all informed more than I currently do with all the happenings of Adriana and other events in our world.

Well, at 10 1/2 months Adriana is a growing, crawling, entertaining machine! She mimics everything we do from laughing to waving to shaking her head. It's pretty hysterical! Self-feeding has been happening for sometime now and as a "neat freak" it's been tough. Mopping the kitchen floor is an understatement and I try to keep up the best I can. When she doesn't like something she tends to drop it off the edge of her high chair...lots of fun! She often flings it off and lands somewhere on the table or across the room. James and I often have a hard time containing our laughter. We're not trying to encourage it but it's pretty funny when a spoon or food go flying! Along with her self-feeding she tends to sort her food on her tray (a very gifted trait I believe). She knows what she likes and what she doesn't. I can mix 4 kinds of food on her tray all white in color but she'll always find the chicken...by far her favorite food! She also enjoys fish, avocado, noodles, blueberries, and potatoes. I've been making all her food from scratch which has been awesome but often things are rejected and I have to take it in stride and not get offended!

Aside from her fun eating habits Adriana has such a wondrous spirit. Our favorite is when she laughs and squints her eyes at you. Holly can attest to how adorable it is and you just want her to keep doing it. It's kind of her trademark move. As many of you saw she loved our DVDs but has been able to focus her energy on other toys including her laptop and ball popper, she loves them both! It's so much fun to see her learning new things daily, how things work, reading books, crawling, standing...everyday is an adventure for both her and us. Still though, anything that's not a toy is better than a toy including laundry baskets, placements, boxes, bowls, etc. I think that's every kid. I wonder why we spend the money on toys?

I'll keep you posted on the latest developments in the world of Adriana!
